Why These Congresspeople Are Wanted for Genocide
Over the past 22 months, these Congresspersons have stood by the Biden and Trump Administrations to fast track more bombs, ammunition, and other lethal weapons to the Israeli military.
Most notably, in April 2024, these Congresspersons voted to allocate approximately $15 billion in tax dollars as a special military aid appropriation to Israel, facilitating the sale of additional weapons to carry out the escalating genocide in Gaza; in addition to the $3.8 billion in primarily military aid that the US provides Israel each year.
These Congresspersons, among far too many others, voted for this appropriation, with the full knowledge of the indispensability of US military aid and weapons used by the Israeli government to carry out the campaign of genocide in Gaza. In March 2024, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute documented that nearly 70% of the weapons being used by the Israeli government, including the notorious 2000 pound bombs being used to destroy Gaza, were sold by US companies and bought with the use of US taxpayer’s dollars provided to the Israeli government.
As of July 2025, these Congresspersons have refused to call for or support a Congressional resolution to halt ongoing US weapons provisions to the Israeli government.
These Congresspersons have played a key role in funding and supporting this genocide.
These Congresspeople cannot claim ignorance of genocide as an excuse. The evidence and international documentation of genocide prior to and after the April 2024 vote, has been overwhelming. To cite a few examples:
-
On January 26th, 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that South Africa’s charge of genocide against Israel was plausible and that the record was open for the receipt of additional evidence.
-
On February 26th, 2024, Amnesty International, the largest human rights organization in the world, issued a finding that the Israeli government was defying this ICJ ruling. Human Rights Watch, the second largest human rights organization, made the same finding on the same day. Both organizations found that the Israeli government was systematically starving the people of Gaza through cutting off aid, water, and electricity, by bombing and military occupation, underwritten by the provision of US military aid and weapons.
-
On March 24th, 2024, Francesca Albanese– the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories– issued a comprehensive report that found the Israeli government had unequivocally crossed the “threshold” and was actively committing genocide in Gaza.
-
On May 15, 2024, the University Network of Human Rights released the report “Genocide in Gaza”, concluding that “Israel’s actions in and regarding Gaza since October 7, 2023, violate the Genocide Convention”. For this major report, the International Human Rights Clinic at Boston University School of Law, the International Human Rights Clinic at Cornell Law School, the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, and the Lowenstein Human Rights Project at Yale Law School all conducted a thorough legal analysis of Israel’s acts since October 7, 2023.
-
On September 20, 2024, the UN Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices published a report for the UN General Assembly, finding that “Israel’s warfare in Gaza is consistent with the characteristics of genocide, with mass civilian casualties and life-threatening conditions intentionally imposed on Palestinians there.”
-
On November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
-
On December 5, 2024, Amnesty International issued a comprehensive report ‘You Feel Like You Are Subhuman’: Israel’s Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza, providing massive evidence on the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
-
On December 19, 2024, Doctors without Borders issued its report documenting genocide, titled "Gaza: Life in a Death Trap."
-
On May 7, 2025, UN experts demanded immediate international intervention to stop the genocide, issuing this international statement “End unfolding genocide or watch it end life in Gaza”.
-
On June 15, 2025, Francesca Albanese published a new report From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide, identifying companies involved in the profiting off the deepening genocide.
-
On July 15, 2025, Holocaust and genocide scholar Omer Bartov, who grew up in Israel, published “I'm a Genocide Scholar. I Know It When I See It” in The New York Times.
-
On July 16, 2025, a coalition of 24 countries, convened by The Hague Group, agreed to six measures to stop the genocide in Palestine, including the halting of arms to the Israeli government.
-
On July 21, 2025, UN human rights office spokesman Thameen Al-Kheetan reported to the AFP news agency that we have recorded 1,054 people killed in Gaza while trying to get food; 766 of them were killed in the vicinity of GHF sites and 288 near UN and other humanitarian organisations’ aid convoys,” stating that the victims had been “killed by the Israeli military”.
-
On July 23, 2025, 115 humanitarian aid organizations issued the open letter “Palestine: As mass starvation spreads across Gaza, our colleagues and communities we work with are wasting away”, attributing the mass starvation to the Israeli government’s campaign of genocide.
-
On July 28, 2025, two major Israeli human rights organizations– B'Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel– jointly issued separate reports finding that their country was committing genocide in Gaza.

It is not enough to simply respond to the criminality of these Congresspersons by saying “vote them out”. Yes, these Congresspersons should be voted out. But these Congresspersons, along with all other Congresspersons, Presidents Biden and Trump, and other officials engaged in such crimes, should be legally held accountable and should stand trial for committing genocide, inciting Israel to commit genocide and/or conspiring with Israel to commit genocide. Until the US court system is used to enforce federal law that prohibits genocidal acts, justice will only be attainable at the international level.
